Pocket money jars for kids
SpendJar helps your children keep track of their money without having to set up their own bank account. Every budget is a jar with its own name, colour and icon. It fills when you add money and empties as they spend, so “how much have I got left?” gets answered at a glance instead of guessed.
How it works
You make the jars
Summer Trip, Games, New Bike — whatever they're saving for.
They watch them fill
Each jar shows the balance and how much is left as a bar.
They spend it down
Tap a jar, type an amount, and the jar empties a little.
The kid's side
Simple enough to hand over
Tapping a jar shows what's available, a box to spend from it, and the history underneath. That's the whole app as far as your child is concerned.
They can
- See every jar and what's left in each one
- Spend from a jar by entering an amount
- Look back at what they've spent and when
They can't
- Add money to any jar
- Change a jar's name, colour or icon
- Create or delete jars
Adding money is always your decision — which is rather the point. They learn to spend down a fixed amount rather than topping themselves up.
